1984 Apple's Mac Commercial

This is actually the beginning of Apple's marketing brilliance...and it's been going pretty solid since then. A few gaps were bad here and there...but hey for a 24 year run...that's not bad.

That said...it's been about 14 years since I've actually used a Mac as my main PC...

Really good contender for best commercial of 2008...

Okay...as you've already seen...American Express won my award for best commercial of 2007.

This ad (which probably did technically come out in 2007 I realize...but I'm choosing to ignore that slight technicality) is a early good contender for best commercial of 2008...

Macbook Air Ad

I'm once again impressed by the way Apple did an ad. I have stopped my TiVo a few times to watch this...mostly because I like the music to be honest... So essentially I like the music only...but by the 3 or 4th time I saw it I began to think "hey...this product they're showing with the music is pretty cool..."

Kudos to you Apple for another good ad...but I'm a PC guy and I've heard the Air sucks...so it didn't work......but still...kudos for the marketing!

Alright...we're watching tv and this commercial comes on starring a puppy...long story short: puppy says "the world is tough on bottoms" at which point Bobby and I burst into laughter and I grab my phone to write this...to which Bobby replies "good...someone has to blog about this."

Brilliant.

Viva Viagra??

Okay...I'm not sure if this is was meant to be directed at Baby Boomer Gay Men...or if they're just really bad at writing commercials. Seriously - look at this commercial and tell me... How can you not look at this and think "so...if you take Viagra you'll celebrate it with a group of men playing your instruments together in a cabin...with no one there other than a dog and these five men...then and at the big climatic moment you all part ways going in separate directions."

So basically...this commercial is essentially "Queer As Folk meets Viagra"...scary...
